Planning for Pregnancy

If you are planning to become parents Neil and Denys recommend that you have a health check visit to your General Practitioner in the months before your planned pregnancy. This is a positive opportunity to make sure that you are on track for a healthy pregnancy by discussing with such things as:

  • When to come off contraception.
  • Prenatal blood testing to exclude disorders which could impact on your pregnancy such as rubella immunity.
  • How your weight influences conception.
  • Any chronic diseases you may have e.g asthma.
  • What vitamins will compliment early pregnancy.
  • Current cervical smear test.

Of course any couple with specific risks or issues about a previous pregnancy may be advised to visit Pregnancy Partners before you conceive.
